What is the CER Method? (Law 7/2023)

According to current legislation, this is the only ethical, legal, and effective method to control the population of community cats. Feeding cats without control is prohibited by law, as it violates health regulations. Our association does it professionally.

Today the orange tide took to the streets

Today we marched in defense of animal welfare and to demand something that should not even be up for debate:
FULL COMPLIANCE WITH LAW 7/2023.
NO CUTS. NO EXCUSES. NO CENSORSHIP.
The organizations and individuals managing feline colonies can no longer continue carrying responsibilities that belong to public administrations.
Our job should be to manage, care for, feed, control, and know our colonies, collaborating and standing by community cats.
But to do this, we need City Councils to fully take on their obligations and provide ALL necessary resources: veterinary care, spaying/neutering, identification, treatments, emergencies, food, shelters, material resources, and real support.
Public responsibility cannot be dumped onto the shoulders of organizations and volunteers while many people daily contribute their time, money, vehicles, homes, and lives to sustain what administrations should guarantee.
And there is also another huge problem:
ORGANIZATIONS ARE INVISIBLE.
We are asked for collaboration, hard work, and accountability, but too often we are not heard.
We are not given visibility.
Our work is not recognized.
We are not included in municipal working groups.
Those who know every colony, every cat, and every local issue are ignored.
In far too many places, quite simply, WE DO NOT EXIST.
For all these reasons, we say:
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
And this fight does not belong only to organizations whose local councils fail to comply.
Even if your City Council has granted you resources, even if you are receiving help, even if you believe the Law is being properly enforced in your municipality, we must stand united.
Because as long as there is a single organization in Spain left to fend for itself, a colony manager paying out of pocket, a community cat without veterinary care, or a City Council ignoring its obligations, there is still work to be done.
Today we march for everyone.
For those who could be here.
For those who couldn't make it.
For those who have been fighting in silence for years.
And, above all, for those who have no voice: community cats.

Behind every colony, there is an invisible reality

At Santa Gats, we have been managing the feline colonies of Santa Susanna for years, handling rescues and treatments. However, we still face a major gap: we do not have our own space to rehabilitate sick, injured, or run-over cats, as well as kittens that need special care.That is why we want to launch the Feline Rescue and Recovery Cattery. To make this a reality, we are looking for 35 committed individuals who wish to become founding partner-collaborators.The membership fee will be €100 per year and will go entirely towards maintenance: food, litter, medicine, medical supplies, and cleaning. With just 35 partners, we will have the stable financial foundation to save many lives.
